OD Hotels has become the first hotel group to create its own NFT Art Collection.
Ocean Drive NFT Gallery.
Since the 2006 opening of the first OD Hotel in Ibiza, specifically the Ocean Drive Ibiza, one of its maxims has been its support and impetus to culture, and to art in particular. Since then, OD Hotels has increased, not only the number of its hotels, but also its commitment to local, upcoming artists and to others who are well established. This is because it has held numerous exhibitions in its hotels and organised its own OD Art Awards, competitions, live paintings and painting workshops.
And it seems that this commitment to art is relentless, as this September they’re launching:
For those people who are a little less up-to-date, we should mention that an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a type of unique asset whose digital format cannot be modified; in other words, it is an exclusive digital certificate. NFTs use blockchain technology to certify their unique nature and to make themselves different from the other digital files on the internet.
OD Hotels has created this new digital collection to lead the renaissance of art and its ownership in the hotel business, and thus to continue to promote works by artists in this new format via its different general-interest channels such as Facebook and Instagram, in its own OD Mag magazine, and in each of the rooms; likewise via media it has specifically created for this purpose, such as its Twitter profile @oceandrivenft or on more ad hoc profiles such as Showtime.
The main purpose of the project is to help local artists and to give them access to a relatively new universe with which many of them may not be familiar, and also to give more visibility to international artists with great potential.
Besides, at its first virtual gallery on Cyber, the exhibition can be visited using any mobile device, tablet, computer or even with VR glasses.
All of these works and those yet to come will be displayed on Cyber, and these will rotate over time, creating exhibitions based on artists, themes, styles, etc. In fact, Ocean Drive NFT Gallery already boasts a number of artists from a wide range of disciplines such as: t_diary, Jben, Alex Soto, Ivan Solbes, letypage, MR Reychel, Maria Iriarte, Tristan Belenguer, Alex Torres, Julia Carretero, Laura Rahola, Raquel Meyers and Álvaro González, who have already assigned works. In addition to these, the gallery is delighted to display works by promising international artists such as: Matías Vivanco (Brellias), Lemuet, Priya Mistry, Arya Mularama, Ilkin Abbaszadeh, etc. As well as those which are yet to come, as OD Hotels’ Ocean Drive NFT Gallery has only just started, and has infinite (digital) possibilities.
