Silent Frequencies
Exhibition info
This abstract series arises from an active dialogue between sound, gesture, and material.
During the working process, the presence of music guides every movement; rhythm, intensity, and flow shape the direction of each brushstroke. The compositions are not just created while listening, but are formed through the physical response to sound.
Layers of colour unfold over handmade papers, where textures, fibres and embedded elements become part of the expression. The use of artisanal materials introduces a raw, organic presence, allowing the surface itself to influence the final work.
Each piece becomes a translation of sound into movement: instinctive, tactile and alive.
Artist biography
Natalia Politowa is a visual artist based in Barcelona, of German origin.
She graduated in Fashion Design from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover and subsequently developed her artistic practice through Fine Arts studies in Bielefeld.
Her work is defined by a minimalist, yet expressive and dynamic, language. Through the use of acrylic, chalk, and charcoal, she creates raw and reduced compositions that emphasize gesture, movement, and line.
Alongside her figurative practice – presented in international contexts such as ARCO Madrid and exhibitions in London – in 2024 she developed an abstract series, exploring a more intuitive approach focused on the materiality of painting.
She is also a co-founder of Evenings at Raima, a multidisciplinary project that fuses contemporary art and music in Barcelona.
