Mutatis-Mutandis explores the phenomenon of the globalized and globalizing condition, in which random factors converge in the birth of a new reality. The human species has transformed according to environmental influences, leading to the emergence of new species, new cultures that attempt to define themselves in the process of their own transformation. The artist speculates through the combination of diverse elements of contemporary everyday life, assembled as they occur in reality (randomly and fortuitously), reflecting the trends and tensions that shape future scenarios.

 

Artist Bio

Pedro Gaona (Caracas, 1969) is a visual artist who has resided in Barcelona since 2009. He uses the technique of collage-assemblage and mixed techniques as a form of expression, which he has adopted as his distinctive mark. His work flows between collage, painting, sculpture, and graphic design, blending his personal experiences with his vision of the environment.
