Marc Rahola & Diego Calvo - Ibiza Festival On/OffSpring Calendar
Marc Rahola & Diego Calvo - Ibiza Festival On/OffSpring
In May this year, at the height of the quarantine, the Ibiza Festival Onspring/Offspring Calendar was born, inspired by the #moveyourspring movement. It’s a set of events by public and private companies that will run from October 1 to November 16, 2020 and from March 26 to May 3, 2021.
Those in charge of promoting and directing this festival are OD Group (OD Hotels and Ryans) and Concept Hotel Group, who have joined forces to work together to create a complete leisure and culture calendar, and from there on to involve all the island’s institutions and companies that can add events and contribute to achieve this common goal.
The Ibiza Festival Onspring/Offspring Calendar is arranged in 6 categories of events: Nightlife, Foodie, Live Music, Sports, Culture and Folk. It will thus consist of a wide range of activities, from actual parties to concerts, gastronomic and art festivals, craft markets, workshops, conferences, cinema, theatre, fashion and sport, both by private companies and by the different institutions involved in keeping Ibiza alive and visible beyond the summer months when it is busiest. Events for all tastes and ages that are both for visitors and locals.
Of course, each participating company will work under strict security measures to safeguard the health of all those attending as well as that of the workers.
Diego Calvo: “We are running this entire project on a non-profit basis, using our teams and our time to carry it out with the single common goal on behalf of the entire island of minimizing the huge losses this year and trying to extend the season in future years”.
Marc Rahola: “Another of the trends that the post-pandemic environment has brought us has been glocalization. “What is local is what defines you, but it is on the global level that you are competing. These unusual times have brought us much closer and have generated an empathy in the competition”.
The response has been extraordinary and the most important hotel companies on the island, the most important leisure groups, as well as public institutions have already joined it: OD Group, Concept Hotel Group, Migjorn Ibiza, Hotel Montesol, Royal Plaza, Casa Maca, Casa Munich, Hostal la Torre, Marina Palace Prestige, Torrent Bay, Victoria Suites, Sir Joan, Hotel Boutique Mikasa, H.Torre del Mar, Ibiza Heaven Apartaments, Es Cucons, THB Los Molinos, Aparthotel Blau Parc, Neverland Properties Ibiza, EcoibizaVillas & Concierge, Can Lluc, Argos, Can Carreu, Hotel Puchet, Ébano Select Apartments, Gatzara Suites Santa Gertrudis, Coral Star, DE Beach Star. Grupo Pacha, Heart, Nassau Group, Ibiza Rocks, Grupo Mambo, CBBC, Las Dalias, Roto, Yemanjá y Teatro Ibiza.
FESTIVA OBJECTIVE
Boosting the local economy.
Continue creating the Ibiza brand not only as a vacation and leisure destination per se, but also as a cultural, lively, open and eclectic destination.
To increase the visibility of each event and of Ibiza in an exponential way.
To create synergies among private brands and public institutions.
To consolidate the initiative so that it may serve as a precedent in the years to come.
Diego Calvo - CEO Concept Hotel Group:
“Eivissa Island Council supports us and they have asked us for a plan of what we need to continue working and not give up on the project, which is non-profit and for the island”.
Marc Rahola - CEO OD Group:
“The solutions must be lowered into the sand and turned into tangible, practical things. Above all, we must ensure that bureaucracy does not stand in the way of their immediate application”
