IMPULSE
Internal force that precedes the movement. A moment in which everything is contained, on the verge of overflowing.
Each work in this exhibition becomes a choreography of emotions: suspended energy, a pause charged with intention before taking action.
Impulse as a synonym for courage and confidence in the unknown. It's not just about what comes next, but about the beauty contained in that precise moment when you decide it's time to move on.
I invite you to connect with your own experience of that second when your heart beats a little louder.
Artist biography
Mariade Vázquez (Seville, 1983)
Since I was a child, art has been my refuge, my most intimate language. I started expressing my inner world on paper and, later on, I took it to the body through dance. I was a dancer, choreographer and teacher, a stage that allowed me to grow, to travel, to connect with different cultures and to understand art as a living channel of transformation.
Over time, I felt the urge to explore other forms of expression and I trained in graphic design at the Seville School of Art, where I discovered new tools to continue creating from other angles.
This combination of movement and visual composition defines my current style: visceral, intuitive, abstract.
I am currently an entrepreneur and I run MOS STUDIO Sevilla, a creative space where I organise exhibitions of other artists, cultural events and participatory experiences of action painting and contemporary art. A place where art is lived, felt and shared.
My current work focuses on abstract art as a way to liberate what cannot be said with words. I am inspired by artists such as Pollock, Klein, Haring, Basquiat, Lichtenstein or Klimt, as well as contemporary artists such as Nina Minnebo, Sophie Tea or Kate Tova.
My creative engine is impulse, with the desire to connect with the viewer. I like to let myself go, feel the rhythm and experience art as a journey into the present.
